DVD opinions and a crappy day…
OK, I’m in the office, unable to actually do any work as the phone is non-stop “you promised me you’d get back to me”-yes, I said I would by the end of the week, I can’t get work done if oyu ring me every 5 minutes asking why I haven’t done it.
People. Deosn’t help that next week is a quiet week in the school, more leaving than arriving; it goes up againt he following week but, well, that doesn’t help me.
Anyway, postman rang while I was shaving, my most recent DVDs have arrived.
So, if I finally get home, opinions.
Deadwood (starring Ian McShane and others, never watched an episode but it sounded good so I bought the series)
or
Star Cops (classic BBC cops in space, from the early 80s, I can remember being addicted as a kid but decided to buy it for nostalgias sake (should the be an apostrophe befor the ’s’ in nostalgias)).
Your opinions are sought…
Ian McShane now always reminds me of David Dickinson and his perma-tan, so I’m plumping for…
Star Cops!!

Go for Deadwood because:
i/ You have no preconceptions about it. Thus it wont be so bad if you watch it and it’s crap, whereas you have good memories of Star Cops so if that’s bad it’ll be a letdown.
ii/ I’ve not seen it either, so you can tell me if it’s any good.
iii/ There isn’t a three. I thought there might be, but after great consideration, there isn’t.
What Vs stuff did you get at the weekend, btw?

Doc Ok vs Spidey starter and a booster. I’ll look into what sets to buy when I’ve looked at the formats and rules a little better.
apparently, the UK champs may be Sealed or Draft, so we could go as long as we learn the cards; no idea when they’ll be but the money will be good.

They haven’t decided on the format yet - there’s a few people on the UK mailing list quite keen on it been limited format but just as many would like to keep it constructed.
Remember that you’ll be at Kohit for gencon though - are the UK championships a seperate event?

Deadwood is supposedly very good. I’ve only seen bits of episodes though.
I guess the one thing you have to try and get used to with Deadwood is the concept of Lovejoy swearing. A LOT.
