I just rang work, the first kids are in the air already, so it’s looking like I can have my normal day off and travel up to Exeter. Happy me.
All I have to do now is have a shower, eat food, get dressed, get in the car and drive up. I have, um, 75 minutes to do all the above except the driving if I’m to be there on time. Hmm, maybe ought to get started? Nah, kettle’s just boiled, and Just a Minute is on the radio.
In other news, the beauty of a paid account is the creation of new RSS feeds; and in doing so finding existing ones I didn’t know about. I don’t think I’ve got that carried away… , , , , , , , .
I especially recommend Nosemonkey’s Europhobia and Chicken Yoghurt. Plus, I can probably dump the Grauniad feed now I’ve got all the Independent ones. All are in one of my public filters.

I, um, got a paid account. No idea why I felt I needed one, but, well, it does mean my comments page look like the rest od the them, and I can play around with some other settings. The things you do when you’re bored.
OTOH, $25 for a year is about the same as a good book, I buy 4-5 of them a month, so given the fun I have pratting around on here…
Expect a few polls in the near future, only because, well, I want to find out how they work.

Well, I was bored, ran out of things to browse, read every news story that looked interesting, used my first ever Slashdot mod points, so decided to play around with my LJ settings.
Look:
I’ve set some styles and preferences up so it’s not just the default, I’ve redesigned my icon and set a layout. Instead of external links (which I played with), I’ve used the links option for different public filters for my friends list, which is cool. I really like the RSS feeds for various news sites, and I only ever go to /. from my friends page.
Unfortunately, the tables in the layout I’ve chosen (3 columns) seem to resolve weird sometimes; in Mozilla, the right column sometimes resolves on top of the middle column instead of after it, and when I booted up IE (it hurt, but, y’know, I had to test it) the layouts were all over the place. Hitting refresh seemed to fix it, so it may be a connection speed issue, but still.
Can people say if they have problems with it and if so which browser they use? It’s an error in an LJ approved layout, so I’ll need to harass them to fix it, but it would be good to know; alternately, it might just be my crappy PC acting up.
