Anyone know where to get a Routemaster from?

As the daughter of a professional coach driver and all round bus enthusiast all I’ll say is that he needs to seriously to check he’d get a licence to drive it before getting too involved in this plan. They’re actually getting very tough on physical and mental health for the PSV test - and rightly so I believe. Even my Dad who is an award winning driver and has been in the industry ever since he was old enough to get his licence had a job at a few hiccups at his last renewal because he’s now a little short-sighted.

Of course, anyone who’s looking to sell one would rather sell it to a business or a a collector, both for insurance purposes and to ensure that it’s properly maintained.
I can’t imagine that anyone who has a saleable vintage bus in any reasonable condition would sell it to a pack of gamers and human detritus to run into the ground through neglect.

Umm, dude, “a pack of gamers and human detritus”? Isnt it just a bit unnesescaraly mean to talk about friends like that?
Well, presumably not friends any more

I’m curious why “a pack of gamers” is a group that people wouldn’t want to sell a bus to. Any reason why that hobby of ours makes us less good at maintaining vehicles? Also, is there anything in particular that we’ve done to earn the title “human detritus”?
When we get the bus we will look after it, care for it, maintain it, and love it. If those selling it care enough to want the buses looked after, then they will probably also want to see some of the buses actually used rather than just sitting around, reminding people that they still exist, and they will want people to be actually getting something out of them.

Interesting choice of phrase there.
I’d love to know why you think that being a roleplayer/gamer means that you can’t be seriously interested in other projects and hobbies and will automatically run such things into the ground? Or why people involved in helping with this are “human detritus”?
You see, I’ve offered to help Mapp out with the project if he wants. I regard Mapp and the rest of the Circus as good friends. I’m a roleplayer, gamer and LARPer, fairly sterotypically such.
I’m also a successful company director who owned his own house by age 18. I went to the most academically prestigious school in the country, as well as the top university for my subject. None of this would really make me classify as your listing of “human detritus”.
Try not to assume you know everything about everyone involved in a project. Especially if you’re going to start insulting them as a group, when there are people involved you’ve never met.
I know quite a few people involved in vintage vehicle collection - my father owned one of the earlier racing car companies, and is often contacted by people looking to get vehicles restored. Mapp would fit in with most of them quite well generally, in appearance and eccentricity.

Don’t make me laugh, Pink. I’ve seen the gradual decay of your last house. I’ve seen the declining state of kitchen hygiene, and personal hygiene from circus members. You lot can’t maintain a kitchen that doesn’t trigger a gag reflex, let alone a vintage bus.
I’ve seen or heard bloody hundreds of abortive projects Mark Mapp has dreamed up to piss away his time.
To be quite honest, if I was selling a bus, and Mark turned up with his harem of failures on a shopping spree, I’d think it was all a wind-up.
It disgusts me that Mat, a man in his thirties, is actively encouraging Mark in his infinitely-prolonged early-adolescence. In his position, I’d try and Mark go out and do something with whatever potential he has.

I am genuinely surprised to be reading this. Up until I read the first of your comments here, I had considered you a friend. A reasonable (If somewhat ranty at things you didn’t like), intelligent friend. What has changed? What have we done to make you decide you hate us so? And why are you targetting so much vitriol at Mark, who is frankly one of the most inoffensive, nice and generous people I know?

Frankly, I’m tired of reading this fatuous drivel.
I can hardly claim I know all of the circus, BUT, I can say I know Mark almost better than anyone here. Almost. I’m not going to go into how sweet of a man Mark is, because we, his friends and family, already know this.
You, my sad little LJ troll, just stepped into dangerous territory with your blatant and uncalled for attacks on my little brother.
It must drive you insane that he has money and you virtually live off of your fiance’s money. It obviously is chapping your ass that he can go out and have fun with his money in a way you wish you could.
My advice to you, suck it up, the Gods have smiled on someone that isn’t you. So why don’t you take your pathetic tripe elsewhere (Like to your own LJ and rant until your brain explodes, assuming that is, if you have one.) and sit back and worry about your own wasted life insead of worrying about someone else’s.
Jealous has GOT to be a bitch!
matgb, I do apologise about putting this in your journal, as Mark’s older ’sister’ I will take a loser bitch down before I allow them to shit on Mark like that. If you need to delete this post, I wholly understand.
