Earlier today, sent this message to . A few minutes ago, I got this comment on an old post:

Hello there,

My Names Andrew I live now in Exeter having just moved down to this neck of the woods recently.

I used to play Requiem at my old hovel, and as such I’m looking for LARPers interested in playing Vampire the Requiem as part of the Worldwide Camarilla game.

If you’re interested or know of anyone that might be interested please email me/get them to email me on andrew UNDERSCORE mantis AT msn DOT com (Replace the capitals with the symbol)

Cheers

Andrew

From one , just moved, to Sidmouth, of all places. Go say hello, do the usual, harass, etc.

And look, I manged to make an entire post without taking the piss out of White Wolf and Vampire LARPers once. Aren’t I good?

  1. Heh. Thanks.

The main problem is though, that with the possible exception of Beedle, we all think the Requiem sucks (as does most of the rest of the new WoD stuff, bar possibly Werewolf).

Still, we can talk to the guy, and he may get some more positive response from Beedle.

Appolgies for those reading this twice, as this is pretty much exactly what I replied to Laurences’ post to the group.

  3. Except you didn’t send it tot he group, unless it’s delayed, it auto inserts the sender int he reply-to, not the list.

And, dude? Of course Requiem sucks. It’s World of Darkness LARP.

  4. Y’know, despite living in Devon most of my life, I’ve never actually gotten around to going. Wrong time of year for me usually.

Maybe next year if I do change industry. Maybe.

  5. Whoops, that may have happened.

    Also, Mat? You’re wrong.

Requiem isn’t a WoD LARP. It’s one of the new WoD games that can be played tabletop or LARP. The guy’s comment doesn’t specify if he’s talking about LARP or tabletop.

Either way, irregardless of your opinon of WoD, our opinion is that the new stuff is far inferior to the old stuff.

  6. I assume that it’s LARP, because not only does he say he’s looking for LARPers, but he also mentions the Camarilla organisation.

My feelings about the quality of nWoD aside, I’ve had enough of the CamUK.

  7. See, I read Pink’s comment and, just, yes, he’s asked for LARPers, it says so right there, unless I’m going nuts. Ah well.

    It’s still roleplay. ‘Nuff said.

    I’m looking for LARPers

Dude? Who’s wrong now? Who’s wrong?

    That’s right. Not me.

Besides. NWod or just plain WoD, it’s still WoD.

  9. Feh! Fie to you and your actually paying attention to what he wrote.

My main reaction was to you automatically describing Requiem as a LARP, which it can be, but isn’t always.

  10. Yes, but Pink, I was decribing it by what he said he wanted. That’s it. I win.

  11. Aaah, the urge to mock White Wolf. And LARPs. Yes - every now and then I need to bite my proverbial tongue too; I never did quite work out what the attraction of either of the Vampires was supposed to be.

  12. Oh, I understood the appeal once, when visiting a friend in Leeds. She was rather nice.

But the game itself? Nah. And the local players are, for the most part, so not my type. If you get a good group, I’m pretty sure it could be fun, but generally you don’t, so it’s not.
