Linkspam before bedtime…
on web standards and LJ accessibility. Very, very cool article, well researched and some good points. I (mostly) agree with her, I’ve made a few quibbles in the comments. If’n you don’t know, she’s the winner of that Style Contest thing 6A ran, and deservedly so, even if she did choose a bloody awful font; layout/change style: pick style contest: the late show, that’s her. Nice, innit? Go read the article, put some time aside, it’s just worth it. with some absolutely awesome pics of forced perspective room decorations. Really well done, very freaky. asks:
Why is it that the first character most girls make … is a Night Elf Hunter?
and it’s a good question. There are, of course, two reasons I don’t play Warcrack
- I’m on a dial up connection
- If I start, I’ll never stop
but I do love the background, suitable daft high fantasy…
- Also?
is a sneaky cheatin’ b’stard. Most of us knew that, but look at that list. No wonder he got to level 8 before me…
G’night all…
It’s thanks to people like me that they fixed the system, demanding confirmation for children.
You should all thank me for breaking the system so thoroughly. However, my honesty score suffered for it.

Nu-uh, it was a dwarf hunter, because the dwarves were just too cute, although I’m disappointed she didn’t have a beard. NE chicks are too skinny, and it doesn’t even look appropriate like it does on the Troll chicks.

Now why doesn’t it surprise me to find you’re a Dwarf nut as well?
Nutbag you are. But I think we knew that.

How could I resist? I am a short wee thing with hips. Dwarves are also short wee things with hips! Also, hunters being as soloable as they are means I have to interact less with other people in the server, which is a-okay with me.
I also liked playing an orc chick and a troll chick (lanky, yes, but awkwardly so) and a tauren chick. The tauren girls are so sweet, very sturdy and have that winsome shy body language.

Ah, so you play with type. I always used to play against type[1].
Taurens = winsome? Is this in some weird alternoverse that no one has told me about?
From what I’ve heard from those that play, avoiding a lot of the other players seems to make sense though.
[1] I am not an elf. I deny this completely, Elves are horrible nasty critters, and no one should ever trust them. Any similarity between me and elves are entirely the figments of other peoples imagination. Lots of other people. Independently. Bastards.
Besides, Dwarves are actually cool. Even Gimli, despite the way he was made into comedy by Jackson.

Well, used to play. I never was much of a hardcore player, and eventually I was too busy with other projects and dropped playing at all May or so. I only started because my little sister plays and she got it for me, anyhoo.
The girl taurens! With their little head ducks and foot shuffling and pretty alto voices and calm, patient natures! They’re totally winsome, in the thick set girl next door the boys never noticed because they were too busy hanging up posters of movie stars kind of way.
Confession time: I never actually read LoTR because I wasn’t much into it, but I enjoyed the movies. (I was more of a Dune girl at that age.) But I’m still disappointed WoW’s dwarf girlies are not bearded. BOO ON THEM.

I only read LoTR fully because at the time of the first film I was employed by Games Workshop, so sorta had to.
I also had the advantage of seeing (and loving) the Dune movie before I read the book, hence I thought it was a great movie before knowing what was wrong with it. Then, always was a Lynch fan.

Bwahaha, I love the movie. It was the first movie we did when I started geek nights for my friends and I. I can be elitist picky about literature, but not movies–I own the Dune movie and both the miniseries. Heck, I own Reign of Fire and enjoy it.
However, not even my lack of cinema standards could save the Eragon movie.
